Determination

Determination: the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose; the quality of being resolute; firmness of purpose; a fixed purpose or intention.

As I sit here tired, at my wit's end, and ready to relax my hands and mind for at least the entirety of a week...I can't help but to think that I am in this predicament due to determination.  As an integral part of my job, I compose grant proposals.  It is indicative for someone in my profession to be adamant, relentless, and resolute.

It is due to this proposed high level of determination that businesses remain open, loans are granted, checks are signed, and people work & eat everyday.  This doesn't, in any way, mean that these things happen because of me.  However, without someone's strong will and desire(and in some cases - greed) to empower and help others  these dealings would not occur.  Determination is the very fabric and stitching of the phrase "I'll try".  Giving up and calling the quits is not an option.

You have too much resting on your shoulders.  The families depending on you, the children looking up to you, the people emulating you...all because of your undying tenacity and good 'ole determination.  Look around; do you stop when someone tells you no? Do you quit when someone says you won't make it or you can't get it done?  Do you crack under pressure...everytime?

Be resolute, be tenacious, be strong willed...be DETERMINED! Don't let obstacles weigh you down.  Put a determined smile on your face and say "I will"!  Be DETERMINED to have a good day...no matter what.  I know I will!

We're Waiting

Each day you have the power to change someone's life.  It's up to you how you use that power.  Will you empower another with knowledge, increased understanding, or simply by showing love? Or will you choose to revel in the past; passing on past pain and disappointment?

Wisdom comes with experience...either your own or learning from someone else's.  Life isn't lived well according to what happens to you, but according to how you respond.  What happened yesterday is done.  What is happening now and how you react will determine what will happen in the future.  What will you do?

Never underestimate the potential of the energy you add to your surroundings.  Awake with a renewed mind and a refreshed & rejuvenated spirit.  It works wonders for your outlook on life.  Have you ever taken notice of how one individual with a negative attitude can dampen the mood or how one individual with a positive attitude can brighten the day?  I know the rain brings a melancholy mood for some, but you can be that beam of light dancing through the rain drops.  What will you do?

Be determined to enhance yourself and those around you today.  Be comfortable in your skin and relish in the talents you have within.  Be determined to add your positive energy to the atmosphere around you.  Exercise your power today.

We're waiting...

Getting Up

You awaken to hear rain falling, birds chirping, cars rushing, buses moving...the world waking and living around you.  What will I do today?

As you ponder your actions and endeavors for the time designed for you to touch someone else's life in some way...you lie in bed.  You create lists in your head and wonder which task to tackle first.  You think about what you started, but didn't finish the day before or the week before.  You try to imagine innovative ways to make your days brighter.  You contemplate including others in your plans and decide against it...forcing yourself to focus on you.

You've dreamed, strategized, and organized...get up!  You're wasting time!  You've spent so much time thinking about what to do that you haven't really done a thing.  I know it's comfortable to map out your plans and to have everything in order before you make your first move, but you do realize that you have to move don't you?  Don't spend so much time strategizing that your strategy is outdated by the time you begin to implement it.  Dream your dream and act on it!

Hello and welcome to my blog!
